Wang Jianlin to attend Fortune Global Forum

Jun 05,2013

Wanda Group Chairman Wang Jianlin was invited to attend the 12th Fortune Global Forum taking place from June 6 to 8 in Chengdu, an energetic growing city in southwestern China.

Wang will participate in a roundtable discussion with the topic of “Global Business Shift: Tapping into Emerging Economies” to talk about the rise of emerging economies as the engines of global economic growth and innovation. CCTV’s Dialogue, a business show that is watched weekly by tens of millions of viewers, will broadcast the discussion featuring a selection of global business leaders and government.

He will also attend another discussion about the changing Chinese culture. Also in the discussion is Robert Iger, President of the Walt Disney Co and Angela Ahrendts, Chief Executive Officer of Burberry.

In China, mass market tastes—especially among the younger generation—are changing fast as urbanization, technology and travel remake consumer experiences and demands. Local companies are fast creating brands and ideas that have a place in China and in the world. The three moguls will exchange views on how tastes are changing in China and in the world, how this will affect the China market and what exciting new innovations lie ahead.

As Wang told reporters recently that he hopes Wanda to be another Disneyland in eight to ten years, it is believed that the discussion at the Fortune forum will be a good chance for Wang and Iger to communicate and share their experience in culture field.

Fortune Global Forum is an annual conference held by Fortune magazine. It is the fourth time for China to hold this forum. Themed "China's New Future", this year’s forum will bring the CEOs of the world's biggest multinational companies, entrepreneurs and scholars to China.
